Plagiarism.
A just-in-time check against the live web. Paste your text and we pull distinct phrases, search the open internet for an exact match, and show you which lines already exist somewhere else, with the source. No database, no waiting on a stale index.
How it works
We break your text into distinct phrases and run each one as an exact-match web search. We flag any phrase that turns up word-for-word on a public page, and list the page as a source. To stay fast and within the free search tier, we sample phrases across the whole piece rather than checking every line, so treat the result as a strong signal, not a court verdict.
This catches copied passages and text lifted from the open web. It will not see paywalled databases, academic repositories, or work that someone reworded enough to dodge an exact-match search. For original writing, the better questions are voice and information gain, which is what Typographer measures.
