A letter to the doctor whose patients already have a portal they never open

How to put the clinic on the phone they already carry.

They will not remember the portal URL. They will not reset the password from the after-visit summary. We take the site you already run, put it on iOS or Android — or both — and submit it in under 7 days. One store is $1,750. Both are $2,500. There is no charge on this form.

Dear doctor,

After the visit you handed them a printout and a login. By Thursday the printout is in a bag. The login is a mystery. When they need a refill, they call. When they need a follow-up, they delay. When they need you, they Google the office and hope the hours are right.

A portal is a destination they have to remember. An icon is a habit. If the next visit depends on a username from 2021, you are competing with whoever is already one thumb away — not a better clinician. A simpler phone.

That is the whole problem. The rest of this letter is what to do about it.

The leak

The patient portal is a request. The home screen is a place they already live.

Portals die in the spam folder. “Complete your forms” is homework. The after-visit PDF is a file they will not find when the pharmacy calls back.

A store listing is a place in the operating system. Appointments. Messages. A tap for a refill they already take. Push when something is real — results are in, a slot opened, a reminder they asked for. Same clinic. Same records behind the same site. On the phone they already carry.

Patients do not grade your EHR. They grade whether they can reach the office on Tuesday without a phone tree.

The work

You don’t need a health-tech rebuild. You need a listing for the clinic you already run.

If it runs in a browser, it can live on a phone. Same scheduling. Same patient site. Same name on the building. On iOS, Android, or both, in under 7 days. You are not becoming a software company. You are putting an icon where the patient already is.

The groups that wait for a six-month “real app” are often still emailing portal links in year three. The fastest path is to list the site you already run. Then you iterate. Shipping is the strategy. The store is the channel.

How it works

Here is the work, with nothing hidden.

You send the clinic website. You choose one store or both. We build, submit, and keep the listing in good standing. There is no 80-page plan. If it runs in a browser, we can put it on a phone.

  1. 01

    Send the website

Your name, your email, and the URL. Note whether you want iOS or Android, or both.

  2. 02

    We build and submit

iOS, Android, or both from the first week. Typical time to a submitted listing is under 7 days.

  3. 03

    Go live, and stay live

App Store Management + Code Updates is $99 for one store, $150 for both. Staying listed is the job.

If you want to see it on a phone first, request a preview. I send it within 24 hours. No charge.

Who you write to

I have been doing this work for founders since 2007.

There is no account manager. You write to me, and I write back. I reply from dk@701am.com, usually the same day.

Sincerely,

The order

Two prices. Nothing else to decode.

You are paying to ship a listing of the site you already run — not to invent a company. If we cannot list it, you owe nothing.

One store
iOS or Android
$1,750to ship

Then $99 · App Store Management + Code Updates

  • Built from the site you already run
  • You choose iOS or Android
  • Submitted in under 7 days
Start with one store
Most owners pick this
iOS + Android
$2,500to ship both

Then $150 · App Store Management + Code Updates

  • The same site, on both stores
  • App Store and Google Play
  • Submitted in under 7 days
List both stores

Your name, email, and URL. There is no charge on this form. I will tell you if we can list it.

If you are unsure, send the website anyway. I write from dk@701am.com.

Before you send it

The questions people ask. Answered in full.

Is this HIPAA software?

This is a listing of the patient-facing site you already run — the same pages they use in a browser. We do not replace your EHR. If the site can be listed, I will tell you. Typical time to a submitted listing is under 7 days.

Do I pay on this form?

No. Send your name, email, and the clinic website. I reply from dk@701am.com. If we proceed, one store is $1,750 to ship, then $99 App Store Management + Code Updates. Both stores are $2,500, then $150.

Can I see mine on a phone first?

Yes. Send the URL. I wrap the site and send you the preview within 24 hours. No charge for that either.

Who do I talk to?

Me. David Krug. There is no account manager. I have been shipping for founders since 2007.

Other letters

I wrote this out for a few kinds of businesses.

See all of them — or read the letter for dentists, spas, or salons.

The next visit should not depend on a portal password.

Send the clinic website. Choose one store or both. There is no charge on the form. I will tell you if we can list it.

P.S. If they only call when something is wrong, you never became a habit. Request a preview — I send yours within 24 hours. Request a preview.
