PhilHealth
PhilHealth is the national health insurance program. Employed members and their employers split a premium computed on monthly basic salary inside a floor and a ceiling.

How it works
Practitioner tables for 2026 keep the premium at 5% of monthly basic, 2.5% each side, with a ₱10,000 floor and a ₱100,000 ceiling. Below the floor you still pay as if basic were ₱10,000. Above the ceiling you stop. This is not MSC. A ₱50,000 basic means ₱1,250 employer and ₱1,250 employee. Register the employer and the member. Remit on PhilHealth’s calendar. Private HMO on top is common in IT-BPM shops. It does not replace this line.
Example: ₱12,000 basic: not 5% of ₱12,000 if you forget the floor logic on very low wages; at ₱12,000 you are above floor so ₱300 / ₱300. ₱120,000 basic: cap at ₱100,000, so ₱2,500 / ₱2,500, not ₱3,000.
How it differs
SSS uses MSC. Pag-IBIG uses fund salary. Universal Health Care Act is the statute that pushed premiums toward this shape.
Common errors
Applying 5% to the USD package. Dropping PhilHealth during probation.
In practice
Treat PhilHealth as a week-one operating object. Look at the next peso payslip and the next remittance file. If this word does not show up there, the quote from the sales call is incomplete. Write an owner - founder, local employer, or worker - and a date you will look at it again: first cutoff, first holiday, or first miss. If nobody can show a contract clause, a payslip line, a calendar block, or a checklist box, you do not have philhealth yet. You have a conversation. Convert the conversation before the person starts, while changing the deal still costs a paragraph rather than a resignation. Re-read the worked example above against the actual hire in front of you. If the numbers in that example cannot be swapped for this seat’s pesos, hours, and start date, the brief is still unfinished.
